Sky Lanterns (or UFO Balloons, Wedding Balloons, Chinese Balloons, Fire Balloons, Sky Candles, Khoom Fay, Kohm Fei, Khom Loy, Kung Ming, Kohm Khawn etc) were originally used hundreds of years ago as a method of signalling by the army, as the lanterns could be seen for miles around.

In more recent times, the Lanterns have been used for sending messages to the Heavens in the hope that problems will be answered by the Gods. And, in more present times, Sky Lanterns are used for celebrations and other special occasions.

Folklore has it that the lanterns carry away bad spirits and misfortune high into the sky leaving only good luck and fortune for the person lighting the Lantern.

I import the majority of my Sky Lanterns myself from China. I recommend that you place your order at least 4 months prior to your event. This allows plenty of time for the manufacture, shipping and delivery, with a bit of spare time for 'just in case'!
